I first met Karli when I shot her senior portraits in 2018. Since then, she and Kolton have been loyal clients that I always love getting to work with. Of course, the greatest honor was being asked to capture their wedding day, and on May 24th I was finally able to do just that. In true 2025 fashion, rain forced us to change our plans, but luckily we had a beautiful venue at Burns Bluff that provided us with lots of great indoor and covered areas where we could escape the weather. Despite the rain, Karli + Kolton were so joyful and happy all day– a true testament to the power of love over any obstacle we face. I am so excited to share some of my favorite moments from their amazing wedding day here!
Karli + her girls got ready at the lodge, with the most gorgeous view of the misty bluff just outside. How cute are their matching ruffle PJs and fuzzy slippers?!
While Karli shared a first look with her bridesmaids, Kolton and the guys got ready at the “Charn” (it’s a chapel and it’s a barn– get it?)
The sweetest first look! I love the suprise on Kolton’s face– he had no clue what Karli’s dress might look like and was so excited to finally see her in it.
The lodge made a perfect backdrop for some dramatic indoor portraits as we waited out the rain. I love how the muted tones of the space really allow the colors of Karli’s bouquet to pop.
Karli’s gown is honestly one of my favorite dresses EVER. Something about it is just so classically and perfectly Southern to me. It was the perfect pick for a late spring Alabama wedding.
Before it was filled with guests ready to watch Karli + Kolton tie the knot, the pavilion served as a beautiful spot for portraits. I was so glad we were able to incorporate the stunning floral arbor for these!
Karli went all out on the florals and I. am. here for it. Her florist did an incredible job bringing her vision to life!
This was SUCH a fun wedding party! The rain didn’t dampen their spirits at all, and everyone had a great time hyping up the bride and groom all day.
Pastel blue was the perfect pick for bridesmaids dresses to complement the bold colors of the flowers. I love how each girl’s dress matched her own style.
Did you really get married at Burns Bluff if you didn’t get the iconic bluff shot? I don’t think so. The rain held off just long enough for Karli + Kolton to get theirs.
A special first look with her dad before the ceremony ♡ Karli gifted him a personalized tie with a photo of the two of them on the back– so precious!
The saying goes that a wet knot is harder to untie– how apt that Karli + Kolton chose to tie a cord to symbolize their union on this rainy day.
Love this grand entrance! Karli + Kolton welcomed their guests to their reception from a Juliet balcony before joining them downstairs for their first dance.
Karli + Kolton, thank you so much for letting me be a part of the biggest day of your lives. It was an honor to see and photograph so much joy amidst the chaos of a stormy day. Thank you for always trusting me behind the camera– I am so excited to see the memories we capture in your future.
