Mackenzie + Nate: June 10, 2023

Mackenzie + Nate were married last weekend at The Hay Barn in Collinsville during the most elegant ceremony, with the biggest party following at their reception. Their families put so much work into all the details, as well as Mackenzie herself who even made her own bouquets! We loved celebrating with this sweet couple and their super fun wedding party, and I’m so excited to share my favorite moments from their big day.

I love all the details of Mackenzie’s wedding look. From the simple silver bracelets, to the pearl earrings, to her cathedral length veil, everything was a perfect compliment to her bridal look.

Mackenzie opted to do a first look with her bridesmaids right before her first look with Nate, and these girls totally hyped her up! Their reactions were so sweet!

Mackenzie + Nate had such a precious first look! You could tell how excited they were to finally see each other and get the day rolling. And Nate *definitely* did not cry. 😉

Yes, I was obsessed with Mackenzie’s veil and yes, we did incorporate every kind of flounce, pull and drape you can imagine. There’s nothing better than a lightweight, cathedral length veil we can play with.

Mackenzie + Nate are such a fun couple, and I love how their personalities shine in their portraits. Serious, romantic portraits are great, but it’s so great to see genuine joy on my clients’ faces on their wedding day.

We took advantage of a few different locations at The Hay Barn, including this beautiful ceremony area tucked away in the woods. I hope one of my future brides takes advantage of this ceremony space in the future– it’s stunning!

In a bold move, Mackenzie chose all white bridesmaids’ dresses for her girls. I think the risk totally paid off and I love the classy look of white on white.

This group definitely knows how to have a good time, and they really knew how to ham it up for the camera.

Nate had the sweetest reaction to seeing Mackenzie walk down the aisle. I’m sure it’s a moment neither of them will ever forget!

How gorgeous is this view? The soft evening light, the rolling hills, the simple altarpiece — this is what wedding ceremony dreams are made of.

I turned around just in time to snap this adorable shot of Mackenzie + Nate celebrating after walking back up the aisle as husband and wife!

Before the first dance, the wedding party kicked off the reception with their own special dances, and the bride and groom had to get in on the fun too!

No better way to do a faux send off than with BUBBLES! I love bubbles for a daytime exit because of how they reflect light and make such a full backdrop. This was the perfect ending to Mackenzie + Nate’s magical day, and I’m so glad we were able to be there for it all. Mr. + Mrs. Mitchell, thank you for having us and congratulations!!
