Anna + Caleb got the best of both worlds with their wedding last week– a small ceremony with a stunning view off Lookout Mountain, and a big bash downtown with all their friends. Even with a few last minute hiccups, these two pulled off the perfect celebration and did it all with a smile. Anna + Caleb are the kind of sweet, relaxed couple we love working with because they put their full trust in your vision and just go for it. Having that kind of creative control is so freeing and in my opinion, can lead to some amazing images. Keep scrolling to check out some of my favorite shots from this beautiful Fort Payne wedding.
Anna’s bouquet was absolutely gorgeous! The structure was a bit more natural to fit the location, and the colors were perfect for a late spring wedding.
Anna got ready in the cutest little tiny house with a great view of the bluff where she and Caleb said their vows later that day.
We love a truly private first look, and it doesn’t get much more private than a secluded overlook on the side of a mountain. We felt the nerves melt away as Anna + Caleb embraced for the first time on their wedding day.
How incredible is this view?! You never know what you’ll get when you’re working at a private residence, but I couldn’t have been more excited when I saw the place Anna + Caleb had chosen for their ceremony.
Anna made the most beautiful bride! I love the classic elegance of her off the shoulder satin dress and the simplicity of her hairstyling, which perfectly showcased her “something borrowed” diamond earrings. A funny story about Anna’s hair– Laura, her videographer, actually styled it when Anna’s stylist couldn’t make it on time. Didn’t she do such a great job?
The mountain laurel was in full bloom on Anna + Caleb’s wedding day, and I had to showcase it in a few of their portraits.
The bluff at sunset was the perfect backdrop as Anna + Caleb exchanged rings and sealed everything with a kiss, in front of their closest friends and family.
The festivities continued at the Coal + Iron Building in downtown Fort Payne where even more friends gathered to celebrate Anna + Caleb, but before they could greet their guests we grabbed some additional portraits around downtown.
Fort Payne has so many beautiful historical buildings, and it’s always fun to get to incorporate them on a wedding day.
We also took a few shots of Anna + Caleb with their super cool getaway vehicle, which they used following their grand exit later that night. The mountains and the train depot made a great backdrop for these images.
I am obsessed with this cake set up! A simple cake with a massive floral halo is what all my dreams are made of now.
Anna + Caleb hired Little River Photo Bus for their reception and their guests had so much fun with it! My favorite part is the mini arcade in the back of the van.
We love seeing everybody on the dance floor! From 8 to 80, all of Anna + Caleb’s guests got in on the fun.
I can’t think of a more romantic way to end your wedding day than with your own private last dance in the middle of an empty street. It was pure magic! Thank you, Anna + Caleb for trusting us to capture your wedding day!
