Every year, I have people request fall senior sessions with lots of autumn color. The problem is, I can’t predict when that will be! I do my best to schedule sessions around the time when I think the leaves will be most colorful, but a lot of it is just luck. Brittney was one of the lucky ones and got some of the best fall foliage from last year! Our first location is not actually one of my regular shooting spots– it’s just a big, random tree next to a church near my studio. But when we shot Brittney’s session, it had the most beautiful golden leaves all over it and I knew we had to take advantage of that! There were also plenty of them on the ground already, so we got some cute leaf-tossing shots as well.
Next, we went to one of my favorite rustic locations which paired perfectly with Brittney’s plaid button down and boots. Looking back on these pictures now, I so miss being able to layer and wear my favorite boots! I love how easy it is to switch up an outfit with layers. Throw on a scarf or a vest and you have a completely different look! Brittney really went out on a limb during this session– LITERALLY! She climbed out onto a giant tree branch so we could get the gorgeous black and white image you see below!
Brittney’s session took place during a terrible drought, but that actually allowed us to get down into the creek bed and shoot her final outfit. This area is usually full of flowing water, so it was cool to get a different perspective on it and really be able to wander through areas that I usually can’t get to. I’d say the mud on our shoes was totally worth it for these shots in the end! I love all the fall colors from the leaves on the trees and in the creek bed, as well as the wooden bridge in the background. Brittney’s session is one of my all time favorites for fall!
