In honor of Flag Day today, I wanted to share Andrew’s senior session from last summer! Admittedly, I had to google Flag Day, because I had no clue what it was! But what I learned is that Flag Day commemorates the date in 1777 when the American flag was first adopted. So when thinking of a session to blog today, this one stuck out in my mind because how many seniors do you know who bring an American flag to their session to use as a prop? For me, Andrew was the first! His whole session was personalized around his interests and his favorite things. We shot on and around his family’s farm in Grove Oak, and it’s always a fun challenge for me to shoot in new places. We started off with some shots of Andrew in his FFA jacket and 4h shirt and with a bit of archery. I probably said “please don’t point that at me” more times than I would like to admit. From there we head to the corn fields, where we got some images with Andrew’s truck, and incorporated that American flag a bit. I love all of Andrew’s images, not just because he was handsome and easy to work with (but that helps!) but also because of all the personal elements we were able to incorporate to really make his session unique. That’s what I want for all my seniors– an experience that is totally unique to them, and images that really show who they are!
[…] the place was! This wasn’t my first foray into farm senior portraits. You might remember Andrew‘s session I shared on Flag Day, or 2015 seniors Heather and Jackson. I love these sessions […]
