The 2025 wedding season is officially here and we’re kicking it off with the perfect winter wedding at McLemore resort! Chelsey + Nick are our neighbors and we’ve spent many nights at their house for holidays, football games and other get-togethers. I was lucky enough to photograph Nick’s proposal to Chelsey at their beautiful bluff property and have had a front row seat to Chelsey’s meticulous planning of this wedding. It was so great to see everything finally come together and to see the fairytale wedding become a reality.I hope you’ll stick around to see some of my favorite moments from our friend’s beautiful wedding day!
The star of the show (besides the bride, of course) was definitely Coconut, Chelsey’s Frenchie. She was serving looks all day in her fur vest and floral collar!
Chelsey wanted old Hollywood glam and I think she definitely hit the mark– from her side swept hair to her form fitting satin gown, everything was classic elegance.
Nick’s twin brother Michael surprised him with cuff links made of pearl– the birthstone they share.
Chelsey opted for a first look with her dad before seeing Nick. It was such a special moment as he walked her down from the bridal suite to her first look with her groom!
There are so many great spots in and around the resort for photos. We explored the gorgeous hotel and braved the weather for outdoor portraits, too.
The fog was a paid actor. I mean– how amazing is this backdrop?! McLemore is known for its views but I really can’t imagine a more perfect setting for a February wedding.
Nick + Chelsey opted to read their vows privately before the ceremony. I am loving this new trend and how it allows my couples to really express themselves with their vows, without worrying about reading them in front of a crowd.
Guests were shuttled from the hotel to the ceremony site and treated to drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the pavilion while they waited for the ceremony to begin.
One of my favorite personal touches was the custom cocktail menu– all the drinks were named after Nick + Chelsey’s animals on their farm!
The wait is finally over. Introducing, Mr. + Mrs. Sapp!
After the ceremony, we stayed outside for a few foggy portraits while guests made their way back to the pavilion to warm up.
Chelsey and her dad shared a dance to a Billy Joel song he used to sing to her at bedtime when she was little, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as the two danced.
Toasts were given by Nick’s twin brother and Chelsey’s older sister and the crowd loved the childhood anecdotes and heartfelt well wishes.
Chelsey + Nick, thank you so much for not only allowing me to be your wedding photographer but also your friend! There’s something so special about a neighbor you can call on at any time and know they’ll be there to help. We have loved watching your love story unfold and are excited to watch it continue as the farm grows with more animals and kids! 😉 Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Sapp! Enjoy your European adventure!
