All my weddings are special, but I’ve got a real soft spot for clients who’ve trusted me to capture all their big moments for years before. I first met Thanne and her family when I photographed her senior portraits, and since then I’ve photographed her sister’s senior session, and her own college graduation portraits as well. So when she asked me to photograph her wedding, I was so excited to be there for another huge milestone! Thanne and Dereck’s wedding day featured perfect weather, a super chill wedding party and a beautiful backdrop at Gore Creek. Keep scrolling to see all the details that made up the best day ever for Mr. + Mrs. White.
How cute is Thanne’s custom jean jacket?! It was the perfect mix of fancy and fun, and the best accessory for her reception. As always, we were absolutely obsessed with the floral arrangements from Tilted Tulip, one of our favorite florists to work with. The mix of cream, blush and mauve flowers was so unique and understated.
Thanne was giving serious fairytale princess vibes in an amazing tiered ballgown with simple pearl jewelry and veil, which really let her own beauty shine. We had so much fun watching her girls and her mom help her get ready for her first look with Dereck.
First looks are always one of my favorite parts of a wedding day, and I love watching the mood completely change once our bride and groom see each other for the first time. You could tell how excited Thanne and Dereck were to be together and one step closer to becoming husband and wife.
There are so many great photo spots at Gore Creek, and since my last wedding there was a very rainy day, I was excited to be able to explore and try out some new places. How neat is this covered bridge that crosses the creek near the ceremony site?
The next time someone tells me they don’t want to do a first look because they want a genuine reaction from the groom during the ceremony, I’m showing them these photo of Dereck. He had the best reaction to seeing Thanne walking down the aisle and I was so glad to be able to snap a few photos of it.
Obsessed with this wedding cake and all the details that made up Thanne and Dereck’s reception. The tiny bottles of honey they gave as wedding favors were such a cute touch to the place settings.
Sunset portraits? YES PLEASE.
Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. White! We loved being there to capture such a fun day and getting to hang out with some great clients who’ve stuck with me through the years. I can’t wait to see what adventure you guys take on next.
