I can’t think of a better way to end the year than with a stunning Christmas wedding! Mary Kate + Tyler had just that this past weekend, as they were married at Stamp Baptist Church near Henagar. Every detail was so thoughtfully crafted and came together in the most perfect way. Even though we dealt with some truly wintry weather, we were able to get lots of great shots inside the church, which was staged with a beautiful forest of twinkling Christmas trees. There’s something so special about holiday weddings, and I’m so excited to share this one with you.
Mary Kate and her bridesmaids got ready in her childhood home, just down the road from the church. I love how personal it made her getting ready photos– including the images of Mary Kate’s mom helping her get into her dress, with her Christmas china peering out of the cabinet just behind them.
A formal bridal portrait on your own front porch– it doesn’t get much better than that.
Mary Kate + Tyler’s first look was precious! You never know what kind of emotions will take over in the moment, and Mary Kate laughing while saying she didn’t know why she couldn’t stop crying was a pretty spot on illustration for how I think most people feel on their wedding day!
Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE Christmas, so taking these portraits in the winter wonderland they had created in the sanctuary was a 10/10 experience for me!
Mary Kate choose the most classic combo of black dresses and ivory rose bouquets for her bridesmaids– I love how she chose to go the more timeless route instead of traditional Christmas colors.
We did venture outside for some wedding party portraits, but the wind was absolutely brutal! Everyone handled the cold so well, and we snapped these quickly before heading back to the warmth of the church.
We even managed to grab a handful of couple’s portraits before we were blown away by the wind!
I don’t think I’ve ever photographed a wedding with a harpist, and she was so talented! The music was beautiful and created such a magical feel during the ceremony.
After they said “I do” we snuck outside for more portraits while guests headed to the reception. These are some of my favorite images from the entire day, and I’m so glad Mary Kate + Tyler let me interrupt their dinner for them!
The one benefit to a super windy day– that cathedral length veil looks magnificent when the wind catches it just right!
Mary Kate and her family transformed their church fellowship hall into a candelit Christmas dream! There were so many beautiful details, we just had to capture them all.
After their sparkler exit, Mary Kate + Tyler rode away in Tyler’s late grandfather’s gorgeous car, complete with chauffeur. And of course we had to make a few portraits with it as well!
Mary Kate + Tyler, thank you so much for allowing us to be there on your wedding day! I was in awe of the attention to detail, and loved being able to soak it all in and capture it for you to remember forever. Congratulations on a perfect day, and best wishes for a bright future!
