Wedding season is back in full swing over here at KC Photography, and we kicked it off this past weekend with Taylor + Skylar’s beautiful wedding day at In The Woods in Rockmart, Georgia. If you think you’re seeing double, you probably recognize Taylor from her twin sister‘s wedding back in May! It was such an honor to be able to capture both Ashley and Taylor’s big days, and to show off all the unique elements that each sister brought to planning their perfect celebration. As the name suggests, this venue is tucked away in the woods of northwest Georgia, and there are so many beautiful locations for portrait opportunities there. I am so excited to share this magical day with you all!
The girls got ready in a sweet little cabin overlooking the water. This was such an easygoing, fun group and I loved how they started their photos by popping some “champagne” confetti! It really set the tone for a great day.
Taylor opted for a first look with her dad, and his reaction was so precious! Their family is obviously very close, and its hard to not get emotional watching them interact. They exchanged gifts, and Taylor also presented her mom and dad with a handwritten letter.
The green color that Taylor chose for her bridesmaids’ dresses was basically the perfect shade for an early fall wedding. It complemented the surrounding scenery so well, but still allowed the girls to stand out.
Working with groomsmen can sometimes be like herding cats, but these guys were very respectful and super easy to work with. It was a surprisingly hot day for September, but they happily rolled through all their poses without complaining, while also keeping us laughing.
How stunning is this ceremony space?! An open air wood chapel overlooking a beautiful pond– this is what wedding photographer dreams are made of, guys.
Skylar’s reaction to seeing Taylor for the first time was absolutely priceless! This is why we always have two photographers at every wedding– we never want to miss a moment like this.
Before Taylor + Skylar were pronounced husband and wife, they invited all their family and friends to join them in prayer. It was a sweet moment filled with so much emotion, and many, many happy tears.
What a good looking wedding party! The perfect mix of classy and relaxed, which was also a perfect fit for this location. Taylor + Skylar incorporated just the right amount of rustic sophistication into their wedding day.
Y’all know if there’s a cathedral length veil around, Ima make it fly. I love the pond as the backdrop for these epic shots! It was one of several spots we were able to use for Taylor + Skylar’s bride and groom portraits.
We also took advantage of some beautiful sunset light over by the honeymoon cottage just before Taylor + Skylar rejoined their guests at their reception.
Before their sparkler exit, Taylor + Skylar had a private last dance with just the two of them. It was such a sweet way to end an amazing day, and I’m so glad they chose to have this special dance. Taylor + Skylar, thank you so much for trusting us to capture this day for you. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to interact with on a wedding day, and it was a joy being there for all your special moments. Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Chaney!
