Mimi and Gabe were married this weekend in a beautiful church wedding at Mountain View Baptist Church, and we were lucky enough to be there to capture it all! Alexander’s The Great Events completely transformed the space and provided all the flowers which perfectly complemented the day. Mimi and Gabe were so excited to finally be tying the knot, and their joy is absolutely visible in their images– just wait until you see Gabe’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time! Their photos are so sweet and truly capture their feelings for each other on their big day.
Mimi’s dress was absolutely gorgeous! Modest but glamorous, with just the right amount of sparkle and some beautiful lace detail, which was matched with her lace trimmed veil. My favorite part was the detailing on her train!
Of course couples photos are the highlight of any wedding day, but we also always want to capture both the bride and groom separately as well. You can really appreciate the little details through their individual portraits, like Gabe’s silk tie and Mimi’s beautiful bouquet.

Church weddings can be tricky when you’re trying to shoot outdoors, but we were lucky to have great light in front of the church, as well as a green area with a pretty wooden fence just across the road. Lots of variety without lots of moving around is always our goal!
Gabe’s reaction to seeing Mimi walk down the aisle was probably my favorite moment of the whole day. I think he went through about a hundred different emotions in 10 seconds! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, these two are the sweetest.
Just look at those smiles! Mimi and Gabe were so wrapped up in each other it was hard for me to interrupt and try to pose them. It was a hot day, but we powered through and finished up their portraits as quickly as possible so they could go enjoy their reception with their guests.
The shots we took in front of the church are some of my favorites! It’s easy to just find a patch of grass and some trees, but I also want my couples to have photos of themselves with the actual place they got married, which I think is so much more special.
Mimi and Gabe had a private foot washing service after their ceremony and it was such a precious moment for us to capture.
How gorgeous is this space?! You would never know it was a church GYM! And I definitely can’t complain about the food either– from giant pigs in blankets to chicken alfredo to strawberry cake, we did not leave hungry.
Thank you so much to Mimi and Gabe for allowing us to be a part of your big day! I hope everything was as perfect as you dreamed. We were honored to be your photographers and wish you all the best in whatever the future holds!
