Taylior + Reed: September 25, 2021

Taylior and Reed celebrated their marriage with a beautiful lakeside ceremony and a super fun backyard reception this past weekend! It’s always intimidating to shoot weddings at private homes versus shooting at a venue, but I couldn’t have been more excited to see the location for Taylior and Reed’s big day. With plenty of room and amazing light for everyone to get ready, and a gorgeous backdrop right on the water, it was the perfect place to get together with lots of family and friends and celebrate a special day.

One of my favorite parts of Taylior’s bridal look was her shoes! The pearl encrusted Vans were such a fun touch to her elegant dress, but I was even more impressed when I found out she made them herself. We love a crafty bride! And while the shoes were great, wait until you see the SOCKS she paired with them later on the blog.

Wedding days are all about spending time with the ones you love, and for Taylior and Reed that meant including their pups, Navy and Jax in some portraits! They were both so excited for their mom and dad, but were great models when it came time to pose for the camera. They even dressed up in navy bow ties to match the wedding party!

Taylior and Reed’s ceremony was so sweet and emotional– basically the whole wedding party was in tears. But there was plenty of laughter too, as Taylior promised to always listen to Reed’s work stories, even when they make no sense to her, and Reed recalled that time Taylior licked his face shortly after they met. Their vows definitely represented their shared sense of humor perfectly.

Following the ceremony, Taylior and Reed took some time to themselves to eat dinner and relax before being introduced to their guests and getting the party started. There was dancing, drinks and CAKE– the perfect recipe for a great night! They also opted for a faux exit with sparklers before getting back to their celebration. We are so happy for this sweet couple and wish them many, many years of happiness!
