As you can probably imagine, 10-10-2020 was the most popular date on the calendar for most wedding photographers this year. And just like all things in 2020, fate stepped in and said “how about a hurricane?!” So we had pouring rain, crazy wind and dark clouds for the majority of Katie and Sam’s wedding day, despite being at a beautiful venue at Gore Creek. However, I never heard either of them complain about the weather, and they both had smiles on their faces all day. You could truly tell this wedding was about celebrating their love above all else. Luckily, we were blessed with a miraculous break in the rain right after their ceremony and were able to go outside for their bride and groom portraits, while guests relaxed inside before the reception. When I talk about weddings with personal touches, this one just might take the cake. Bridesmaids and groomsmen were given personalized throwing axes, and the couple exchanged swords during their ceremony. For their bouquet (and cigar) toss, instead of the usually Single Ladies being played, they opted for Rammstein’s Du Hast, and had a mosh pit going in short order. Their parent dances were also so fun, and they even choreographed their first dance! Katie and Sam were uniquely themselves, and their wedding day reflected that in every way. We wish the best for the new Mr. and Mrs. Gore!
