Graduation is coming up fast for my 2017 seniors, so I’m declaring May to be Senior Month on the KCPhoto Blog! I’ll be posting as many senior sessions as I can so we can be all caught up and ready for the class of 2018 in a few short months. Today’s post is all about Emma Grace, whose session we shot back in the fall! Emma Grace brought four super cute outfits, and I thought each one was perfect with the locations I chose. She started in a casual jeans and t-shirt kind of look that went great with our urban location. I love how her outfit was simple, but still so fun and stylish!
Emma Grace’s second outfit was definitely my favorite! This lace top just LOOKS so special, and was perfect for senior portraits. I always advise my seniors to have one really casual outfit that they’re comfortable in, and one that’s more formal. It’s important that you look and feel like yourself during your session, but it’s also great to do something a little more dramatic than you’re used to! These were some of Emma Grace’s favorite images too, and we actually ended up using one as a full size photo on the back of her graduation invitations!
While we were gearing up for her third look, it started looking a little cloudy in town. I knew we had one more location that was a bit far away that we still needed to get to, so we got as many shots as we could quickly and headed up to our last spot! Emma Grace’s first two outfit choices were more spring-looking to me, and her last two definitely had more of a fall vibe. I love the dark green of her sweater with the autumn foliage!
It started getting very dark as we were preparing for Emma Grace’s last look, and we managed to get done shooting just before the downpour came. I try to stay weather aware and reschedule shoots if I expect rain, but this one snuck up on me! I was so glad we were able to get all of Emma Grace’s looks in and take all the photos we needed to, but we cut it close!
I hope you guys enjoyed this throwback to Emma Grace’s fall session, and be on the look out for lots more to come as I share more photos and stories during Senior Month!
