Maegan >> 2017 Fort Payne Senior

All my sessions are memorable in one way or another but there are some you just don’t forget. Maegan’s senior session definitely falls into that category! There’s always one session every year when the days start to get shorter, I fail to realize it, and I end up scrambling to not run out of light. Add on to this the fact that Maegan had hair and makeup with Kendall at my studio in Fyffe, followed by a trip to shoot in downtown Fort Payne, then back to Fyffe for sunset in the cotton field and you have a recipe for a stressed out photographer!

Lucky for me, Maegan was so easy going and didn’t let my stress rub off on her. She easily fell into all the poses I asked for, even when I was trying to get as many as possible within our short time frame. Being short on time is not fun, but I do enjoy a good challenge and I tried to make the most of Maegan’s session by shooting multiple poses from different angles in the same location. It’s amazing what two steps to the right, or moving one arm can do to completely change an image.

Once I got the images I needed downtown, we drove (entirely too fast) back to Fyffe to catch the sunset. Cotton field senior portraits can only happen within a very brief span of time every year, so I’m always seeing how many I can squeeze in! I feel like they are such a unique, Southern thing and I love that I can give my seniors something that not everybody has access to. Maegan had one last casual outfit that we were able to get a few shots in before moving to the real star– that beautiful red gown. We moved fast, but I adore all of the images we got– from fun and whimsical to serious and dreamy, Maegan covered the full range of emotions in these shots. Plus, she looks like a Disney princess and I mean, who doesn’t love that?
