I’ve had the pleasure of photographing several Fort Payne cheerleaders this year and each girl has brought their own unique style to their shoot. Peyton was no exception– this girl rocked everything from combat boots to a Barbie pink two piece dress. But she has a special place in my heart because I don’t know many other seniors who would wear a Nirvana tee for their senior portraits. Anyone who knows me knows my love of grunge and rock music in general, so I loved finding out that Peyton’s favorite band was Nirvana! And can we just talk about that hair for a second? As someone whose hair struggles to hold curl for a full 12 hours, I’m pretty jealous of people with natural curls. I’m sure Peyton has days where she doesn’t want to deal with it, but I absolutely LOVE big, crazy, curly hair!
I photographed Peyton in one of my favorite locations, which gave us lots of options for unique backgrounds without having to travel too far to find them. Everything was so lush and green at this time of year and it was a beautiful contrast to Peyton’s outfits, from bright coral, to soft baby pink. But my favorite color combo has got to be that pink dress against the bright green of the bamboo! I just started photographing in this bamboo fairly recently and now I am obsessed with using it for my senior sessions. It adds so much great color and hey, not everybody can say they’ve had their picture made in a bamboo grove, right?!
