I first met Marissa and Cole when I shot their engagement session back in August of 2013. Before that, I had taken prom pictures for Marissa’s sister Michaelea prior to that, and also shot her senior photos last year! (You can find those photos, and a very interesting story here) I was super excited when Marissa contacted me about shooting their upcoming wedding, and we met up one day to have lunch and go over her contract. She showed me photos of their beautiful venue, The Barn at High Point Farms in Flintstone, Georgia. I had never heard of the town, much less seen the venue but I was blown away by the rustic beauty of it all. I was elated when Marissa told me she’d like to do another engagement session, this time at their venue! It was about a 90 minute drive for me to get there, but so worth it!
Besides the barn, which gave us beautiful spaces to shoot inside and out, there was also a big tree swing, a grove strung up with lights, and the perfect little farmhouse for us to utilize. Marissa works at TJ Maxx, so of course she has access to tons of awesome props! She brought along Mr. and Mrs. mugs along with the cutest Scrabble set I’ve ever seen. We set up in the living room of the farmhouse for a little game of Scrabble 🙂 And speaking of the farmhouse, I so loved the front porch swing, and the ceiling of the porch, which was made up of bright blue wood pieces. We also had a furry photobomber in one of our pictures– see if you can spot him!
It was such a nice, unseasonably warm day, and we got some beautiful sunset light at the end of our session. I can’t wait to go back to The Barn at High Point Farms for Marissa and Cole’s wedding, and see the place all dolled up!
Oh my goodness these are unbelievable Kayla! I couldn’t imagine them any better than they are!! I
