2013 Weddings >> The Year in Review

At the beginning of 2013, I set a goal for myself. I wanted to book 10 weddings. TEN? Was I out of my mind? I had only shot a few the previous year, but I set my sights high. Amazingly, I booked exactly ten weddings last year, not including those I second shot for other photographers. This year, the new goal is 15 and I fully intend to meet fifteen wonderful new couples who will trust me to capture their big day! Each and every wedding I shot was unique and a true reflection of that couple. I could go into all the detail, but that would be a looooong blog post! Instead, I just wanted to share a favorite image of each of my 2013 couples and some of my favorite things about their wedding day. Some you may have seen on my Facebook page, but some have been sitting around in files on my computer for a few months. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed shooting them and getting to know these great couples!

Savannah + Zach: March 23

Kayla’s favorite: Savannah’s hair! It was the perfect mix of elegant and bohemian.

Abbey + Matt: April 27

Kayla’s favorite: Their Beatles inspired decor! Everything from centerpieces to the cake paid homage to the fab four.

Hannah + Nick: May 11

Kayla’s favorite: Hannah’s dress! It was absolutely perfect for her. Timeless, modest, and oh so elegant.

Paige + Marcus: June 8

Kayla’s favorite: Their chemistry! I hardly had to pose these two– they looked so great with each other practically effortlessly.

Hannah + Luke: June 22

Kayla’s favorite: Reception food! These two had breakfast for dinner following their wedding and it was a great switch up from typical reception dining.

Jordan + Brock: July 27

Kayla’s favorite:Their personalities! You will never meet a more genuinely sweet couple than these two– they are gorgeous inside and out.

Taylor + Chris: August 10

Kayla’s favorite: The Location(s)! Would you believe me if I told you that this photo was taken at the edge of a chert pit?? We also got to shoot some great beach pictures with this couple in their wedding attire!

Hannah + Craig: September 7

Kayla’s favorite: The View! This was my first out of state wedding, and their venue had an absolutely stunning view of the mountains in Georgia.

Brandi + Jason: October 5

Kayla’s favorite: That family! I loved how they incorporated all of Jason’s big family into their small ceremony.

Sidney + Blake: November 9

Kayla’s favorite: Little guy! Their son Drew was so sweet the whole day. I’ll never forget his face when he saw Sidney for the first time that day!
