Haley + Bryant : November 19, 2017

001
With this weekend behind me, I can finally look back and really enjoy what an experience Haley and Bryant’s wedding was. Haley is one of my best friends, and I was so excited when Bryant asked me to spend the day and photograph her on a scavenger hunt that ended with him down on one knee. This was back in September, and soon after Haley threw me the curve ball of making me a bridesmaid as well as her photographer. This seemed like it would be tough, but manageable. Fast forward just a couple weeks and suddenly I’m maid of honor and the wedding has been moved from next fall to less than two months away! Helping Haley plan her big day while also dealing with my busiest season of the year was no easy task, and I definitely didn’t think I was going to make it a time or two. But thankfully, the big day came and went without a hitch (except for me forgetting Bryant’s ring at the altar– OOPS!) and even though the weather was chilly, you could practically feel the love radiating from these two. I love their first look and the portraits that followed, where you can see how much fun they were having just being together and forgetting all the stress that had come from planning.

I couldn’t have managed this day without help from my second shooter Logan, who took charge during the ceremony and reception when I had other duties, and my friend/assistant Joanna who I jokingly referred to as the maid of honor’s maid of honor– she saved me so many times throughout the day! Haley and Bryant’s beautiful venue was Sweet Seasons Farm in Valley Head, which is one of my most favorite places to shoot. In addition to their wedding guests, the farm’s sheep also made appearances during portraits and the ceremony. One of my favorite moments of the day was watching Bryant and Haley share part of their first dance with Bryant’s son Brayden –such a special moment to signify them officially becoming a family. Haley and Bryant, I love you guys so much and I am so happy that you let me be a part of your wedding day, and your lives.
