Jashen>> 2015 Section Senior

I typically book my senior sessions in the afternoon, but sometimes schedules get so hectic that we have to make other plans. This was the case with Jashen’s senior session, which we shot in mid-morning around her grandparent’s house. I was given directions, and knew that they sounded really easy. Lo and behold, we shot just a few miles from my house! It’s amazing how many beautiful locations are right under your nose if you’ll just stop to look. Not only did we have great places to shoot, we also had some pretty fantastic props! This included a vintage Chevy and a candy apple red vintage tractor, too. How many girls can say they had those props for their senior portraits?!

After we finished shooting around the barn, Jashen’s dad drove us down to the creek in their Polaris. It was a bumpy, slightly terrifying ride, but hey– I love adventurous senior sessions! Once we were down at the creek, we took full advantage of the beautiful light, trees and rock formations. We even got brave and decided to hike a little further down to get closer to the water. Some of my favorite shots are the ones of Jashen in her Muck boots and camo, standing beside (and in) that freezing creek water! I thought they were so unique and really showcased Jashen’s personality. After drying off, we headed back up and got a few more shots of Jashen with her basketball jerseys (yes, she’s another of my fabulous Section seniors!) It was such an awesome morning exploring and adventuring with Jashen and I hope she had as much fun as I did!
